Willog (co-CEOs Bae Sung-hoon and Yoon Ji-hyun), an IoT-based logistics intelligence solutions company, announced on the 15th that it has obtained a domestic patent (Patent No. 10-2727188) for "Multi-Modal Electronic Device Capable of Multi-Area Sensing and Operating Method Thereof" (hereinafter referred to as "Multi-Mode Sensing Device and Technology"), which enables more precise measurement of various environmental factors occurring during transport.
Maximizing Data Collection Efficiency Through Multi-Purpose Sensing
With this patent, Willog has advanced its solutions currently applied in various fields including international transport, warehouse control, vehicle control, and bio cold chain, and has established a system for efficiently collecting necessary data with a minimum number of devices.
Conventional sensing technology could only collect limited data from the position where the device was installed, and measuring information at different distances or areas required multiple devices. The patented technology now registered by Willog is a multi-modal sensing technology that enables a single electronic device to simultaneously measure data from various distances and areas, allowing it to accurately collect and provide diverse environmental data including temperature and humidity in a single operation.
The technology collects environmental data through three primary operating modes. Mode 1 rapidly measures near-range data to enable immediate response when anomalies occur. Mode 2 collects mid-range environmental information and calibrates the data values of neighboring devices, improving overall data accuracy. Mode 3 intensively monitors environmental changes in critical cargo or specific areas of interest to enable early detection of anomalies.
Another key feature is that the sensor subsystem automatically switches between each operating mode, enabling continuous and efficient data management. In particular, the system is designed to continuously collect and analyze data by switching modes at regular intervals, and is engineered to secure wide-range environmental information even during idle time when data collection is not actively required, maximizing the utilization efficiency of sensing resources.
Willog CEO Bae Sung-hoon stated: "We have continuously deliberated and researched how to provide companies with growth strategies and insights based on accurate data. Based on the Multi-Mode Sensing Device and Technology patent obtained this time, we have established a system capable of providing companies with more sophisticated data, and we will continue to lead technological innovation and contribute to the advancement of the industry."
