Willog (co-CEOs Bae Sung-hoon and Yoon Ji-hyun), an IoT-based logistics intelligence solution company, announced on February 19 that it has signed an MOU with Asetec (CEO Park Jong-seok), a leading systems integrator specializing in logistics automation solutions, for technology development and business commercialization to drive logistics digitalization.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to explore business opportunities across the domestic logistics automation sector and pursue mutual technical cooperation and joint development. Willog will provide its expertise in securing data-driven logistics visibility and supporting corporate logistics strategy formulation through its solutions, while Asetec will share the know-how accumulated through years of market experience and the technical capabilities of its various supplied solutions. In addition, the companies will jointly develop new logistics technologies demanded by the market.
As part of the collaboration, Willog's solution will be implemented at Asetec's logistics solution demo center, enabling logistics professionals from various industries to experience the solution firsthand. Visitors will be able to directly experience spatial visibility secured from diverse environmental data collected within a logistics warehouse, along with logistics risk management and insight generation based on that data.
Located in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, Asetec's demo center operates as a space where visitors can view various domestic and international logistics technologies in action. It showcases the actual implementations of global logistics automation solutions, including RightPick by RightHand Robotics (USA), Miniload by Daifuku (Japan), and AutoStore by AutoStore (Norway), attracting significant interest from major Korean corporations and many other companies.
Asetec is a representative logistics IT company that has led the domestic logistics automation market for approximately 30 years. To enable the efficient operation of logistics centers, the company supplies its in-house developed integrated logistics management system "neXos," which integrates WMS (Warehouse Management System), WCS (Warehouse Control System), OMS (Order Management System), VMS (Visibility Management System), and TMS (Transportation Management System). Asetec also introduces and provides globally superior logistics automation solutions to Korea across all logistics processes, including storage, picking, conveying and sorting, robotics, packaging, and inspection.
Park Jong-seok, CEO of Asetec, stated: "We are very pleased to collaborate with Willog, which has garnered attention in the logistics market for its innovative technology. Based on the technological capabilities and experience of both companies, we will strengthen our competitive edge and together drive the growth of the domestic logistics market."
Willog Co-CEO Yoon Ji-hyun emphasized: "Securing data intelligence through logistics visibility and establishing an efficient logistics strategy have a profound impact on a company's growth and performance. It is no longer acceptable to operate logistics in the old way. Through our collaboration with Asetec, one of Korea's leading logistics automation companies, Willog aims to present new logistics digitalization solutions to a wide range of Korean enterprises."
